Keynotes by authors
Sheila Turnage and Tameka Fryer Brown
We believe that offering this event free to our members is the best option for our region and know that a large percentage of our membership has never had the chance to attend a conference. This will be a way to share a revised version of the traditional "conference experience" in a way that we hope will bring joy and unity.
We hope our members will see this as an opportunity to receive quality programming while also supporting our community at large during this strange time in our history.
|
ATTENTION WRITERS & ILLUSTRATORS!
|
We hope you have been able to use this time in quarantine to be creative! Even though this year's conference will be conducted online, portfolio reviews and manuscript critiques will still be available! With this new format, you will be required to send your illustrator portfolios and manuscripts to your reviewing faculty 6 weeks in advance of your critique session. All manuscripts will be conducted via email. We wanted to give you heads up at this point as this format will require more work ahead of time. We are very excited about our faculty and will continue providing details as we have them. Thanks!

Some Inspiring News From the World!
|
SpaceX made history on May 30th, with the successful launch of the Falcon 9 rocket. NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken were aboard the Crew Dragon spacecraft.
The launch, titled ‘Demo-2’, served as the final demonstration mission in the human rating process of
SpaceX’s
Crew Dragon and Falcon 9. At the close of this mission, the launch vehicle will officially be certified for operational use for regular transportation of people to space.
As authors and illustrators, inspiration is all around us, and its stories like these that can spark an idea and prove that anything is possible.
