October Mee ting
MingDu Restaurant
657 Washington St, Stoughton
Thursday, October 18
5:30pm - 8:30pm

Our October meeting will be at  MingDu Restaurantowned by Jason L., who owns two other restaurants in the South Shore area, and his sister, Vicki.  Vicki, along with her head chef husband, run this restaurant.

Min gD u (originally ChengDu) was purchased in 2017 but still offer many of the same dishes that ChengDu had been known for., as well a s their own specialties, such as: Mini Peking Ravioli, General Gau's Chicken, Strange Flavored Chicken, Jack Levin Pork, etc.

They have a busy bar (pictured above) and one of the best buffets in the South Shore area!  Over a dozen delicious items, from apps to entrees to dessert, which are served with soup.  They also have " Sue ", originally the head waitress at ChengDu, still serving food and wit at MingDu!

We will begin at 5:30pm with cash bar and networking, followed at 6:00pm when a buffet dinner will be provided.  Approximately 6:20pm we will do a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and then we have our guest speaker, Tanisha Salmon , a 12-year Stoughton resident, who will talk about her non-profit venture, " Begin to Dream Again ", to help women experiencing homelessness and poverty!

From Snyder's Stoughton
Faced with the disappointment of a cancelled wedding - just two weeks before the ceremony - Salmon opted to turn the situation into a positive by using the reception venue to host a fundraiser for 200 homeless women.  From that one event - three years ago - and using $5,500 of her own savings, she formed her charity.  " Begin to Dream Again " has since evolved into a multi-service charitable organization providing long-term transitional support to women experiencing homelessness and poverty.

"We provide services to all the shelters,"  Salmon told Snyder's Stoughton.
"We go into the shelter and provide them with career developmentclasses, recreational activities, and things the shelter will allow us to do to help these women get back ontheir feet.  We provide personal care products to the women at Valentine's House in Roxbury and WoodsMullen Shelter, near the Boston Medical Center.
We'd love to help them with warm clothes.  We always have enough to share with other shelters."

Vicki would also like to entice you to come back and is offering a $25.00 Gift Card that will be a raffle drawing!!

The cost for this meeting is $20.00

True Value of Stoughton
When we discovered we had a leaking propane tank, we took it back to True Value, not knowing what else to do?  Ben (Mike's son) spent the time to go over all possibilities and once he found the leak he gave us another reconditioned tank 'filled'.  When it comes to service there really is no beating True Value in Stoughton!
Kevin Gillbrants of Rogers Insurance
Back in April 2016, I had moved my company from Norwood to W. Bridgewater.  I changed all of my personal and business insurance to Rogers Insurance with Kevin Gillbrants as my agent.  On more than one occasion Kevin has not only gone to bat for me, he has hit home runs everytime.

He has run to the RMV on many an occasion and when I purchased another vehicle for my business and there was an address problem with RMV he spent many hours getting me squared away and then ensuring that the Title was mailed to me.  We highly recommend Rogers Insurance!
Care Central Urgent Care
Recently, I had the misfortune of getting a rather serious infection on my leg where I had thought I had just a scrape.  I went to Care Central to have it looked at and received excellent treatment and personal care (and they didn't know me or that I am with the Chamber).  They had prescribed a 7-day antibiotic treatment and 3 days in I received a call from them asking how I was doing.

Geez, my own doctor of 30 plus years doesn't do this.  Really made me feel comfortable having gone to them and will do in the future!  Thanks CARE CENTRAL URGENT CARE

For the Taste of the Chamber
"We had a great time at the Taste Event last week. I attend the Taste events all the time and this was one of the best. I live in Stoughton so it was close to my home.  I will attend next year with my friends."
"I thought it was a great idea and enjoyed being part of it"
"The event was great, only suggestion would be lowering music a bit, it got a bit difficult talking/hearing guests at times"
"A great experience, with a community filled with enthusiasm, the whole place was bustling with positivity."
Ellen from The Farmer Willie's
"The Taste of the Chamber was an excellent, organized event! Attendance was very high for a 1st Annual, which speaks to the community of Stoughton. We look forward to participating next year and beyond as we appreciate the exposure and fun!"
