Greetings!
2018 A Banner Year for New Funds
Over the past year, generous donors gave $2.2 million dollars to SCCF and created 12 new funds. Reflecting the wide variety of motivations behind someone's philanthropic goals, these donors chose to support SCCF operations, honor the legacy of a family member, encourage philanthropy in a new generation, support community projects, fund college scholarships, and to designate contributions for specific charitable causes and organizations.

We are honored to work with passionate donors and volunteers making a difference in the future of Steuben County.

Women's Fund Grant Supports New STI Clinic
Steuben County women will soon have a new option for receiving free healthcare. With support of a grant for $12,000 from the Women’s Fund of Steuben County Community Foundation, Cameron Hospital is opening the Women's Health STI Clinic on August 1 st . Women will be able to receive free, confidential testing, with treatment available through the clinic for women who receive a positive test result and their partners. Additional information on safe sex, the impact of STIs, and counseling will be available through the clinic as well.

Susan Allshouse, a member of the Women’s Fund of Steuben County Community Foundation, shared her excitement for the community impact this program will create. “I am very happy that this clinic will be available to all women to allow them to seek help when they may not have otherwise. I particularly hope that this will help stop or to some degree alleviate the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, especially among college students and other young adults who may be too scared to seek help otherwise.”

The Women’s Fund is pleased to support this community program and address an important health concern for Steuben County women. The clinic will be located at the Urgent Care of Cameron Hospital building at 1381 Maumee Street in Angola (next to the Dairy Queen). Clinic parking and entrance are at the back of the building.
SCCF's Quarter Million Dollar Secret
Community Foundations are often referred to as one of the best kept secrets in their towns. This year we decided it's time to spill the beans! Save the date for SCCF's annual meeting , where we'll share our accomplishments over the past year, and the community impact made through annual automatic distributions to nonprofits from our designated funds. Join us as we break down SCCF's mysterious philanthropy at 4pm on August 9, 2018, at Club Z at Trine University's MTI Center.
Please RSVP to sccf@steubenfoundation.org or by calling the Community Foundation at 260-665-6656.

New Nonprofit E-Newsletter
This spring, we asked Steuben County's nonprofits to share their challenges, successes, and needs. We are grateful to the organizations who committed to two days of conversations about how SCCF can support a nonprofit community that is connected, sustainable, and collaborative.

Our first step was creating a nonprofit e-newsletter! Each month, we'll share a local story about Steuben County's nonprofits, highlight national changes or news about nonprofits, provide fundraising, board, and HR tips, and include a platform for nonprofits to ask for and offer support, volunteers, or office equipment. We're excited about this new opportunity to connect Steuben County's nonprofits. If you'd like to sign up for the e-newsletter, click the link below! (We promise, it won't overlap with the information you read here each month.)
