"And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19.

God has provided SCCS with a fourteen-passenger bus! He provided the bus through dedicated donors who saw our need and answered His leading. We are so blessed! We will start using this bus for school events as soon as we can get North Carolina tags and secure necessary driver documentation.

This is not all that God has supplied recently. We just finished a successful Booster-thon Fun Run. In the last three years added together, the Fun Run has brought the school over $80,000 for school operations. Although tuition does not fully cover operational expenses, fundraisers such as the Fun Run have stabilized our budget and have allowed us to keep tuition as low as possible. Thank you to all of the staff and volunteers, especially the Parent's Association volunteers who made this year's event a success for the students!

Dear SCCS Parents,

Colossians 3:23-24 - Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive and inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Thank you for all your support and help during the Fun Run. The students had an amazing time in helping raise money for our school. We could have not done it without your help getting pledges, marking laps, walking students to the park and back, handing out water and so much more. Great job events committee for a wonderful experience. We are all blessed to be a part of a great school that is able to serve and honor the Lord in all that we do. Enjoy every day and serve the Lord with a cheerful heart.

Serving you in Christ,
Rebecca Whitecotton
Grammar Principal

I will be hosting a College Guidance Night for any Upper School Student and their parents on Tuesday, September 12, at 6:30 PM. This night of information will be held at our Penn Ave. Campus in the multi-purpose room. This evening's event will be focused on 9th through 12th grade students, but parents of 7th and 8th grade students might also be interested, especially as it relates to financial planning for your student to go to college. The earlier you plan the greater the possibility of being able to afford college. I will have a guest there that evening from College Plan Today, who will do a 45-minute workshop on financially preparing for college. Please plan on attending if you can.

I also want to mention an upcoming Christian College Fair. This Fair will be held at Fayetteville Christian School on Monday, September 25, from 6 - 8 pm. Check out the flyer in this week's newsletter for a list of the colleges that will be in attendance. You can pre-register for this event and there is no cost to attend.

Finally, I wanted to encourage parents of our 11th and 12th graders to register their students for either the ACT or the SAT (or both). These are two tests used for college entree. They are held on Saturdays throughout the year and you need to register on-line and pay the testing fee. You will want to find the closest testing site to where you live by searching the test websites. The testing dates, deadline for registration and late date registration dates for both tests are below.

If you have any college or guidance questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am available during the school day, but also in the evening by appointment.

Preschool is in full swing.  The children are busy beginning their letter of the week fun!  I have seen classes cutting bananas for "B" week, tasting Limes & Lemons for "L" week, and making alligator's with sharp teeth for "A" week.  Specials are also in full swing with Art, Latin, & Music.  I know the children enjoyed the floor keyboard that Mrs. Crisswell brought in for music.  Mrs. Hanson and Ms. Vogt helped the children with self portraits in art class!

Thank you all for participating in our BoosterThon Dance Party!  The children loved the Dance Party. Hopefully they came home and told you all about the dances they did.
