Dear SCDA Members,
In just the last week the COVID-19 situation seems to have grown dramatically. The information we are receiving is overwhelming. I join you in sharing concerns for our patients, staff, families and our own health. I also share with many of you concern for the economic well being of our practice which directly impacts our employees and our own family.
I'm sure most have you have had conversations with your office personnel regarding infection control and patient screening for Coronavirus. We all will handle these situations in the way we see best while being aware that the topic is sensitive for many people.
Click here to see the letter that I am sending out to my patients and posting in my office to let my patients know I am aware of their concerns and how we are addressing them. As a profession, we have always been on the forefront of infection control. So the infection control protocols are already routine for us. Our challenges lie with the supply shortages, employee absenteeism due to illness or school closings, and patient cancellations due to illness or caution.
I will stay in touch over the next weeks as we navigate the challenges that we may be facing. Hopefully you received an email this morning regarding the 2020 SCDA Annual Session. Please check the SCDA website regularly for updates.
