RSE 4th Graders Taxed by King George III

Rock Springs Elementary 4th grade history students experienced what it was like to be a colonist who was getting taxed by King George III. They were very unhappy when the King ordered the Tax Collectors to gather their M&Ms for taxes such as riding the bus, having words on their shirt, or having blue eyes! The "colonists" were angry and felt like the taxes were unfair, and too high! They ended up protesting by tar and feathering the Tax collectors and chanting, "No Taxation Without Representation!"

STREAM Day At Ketron for 2nd and 3rd Graders

Second and third grade students participated in a STREAM day with Mrs. Cox at Ketron Elementary. The object of the project was to rescue "Wormy" by placing his life jacket (a life saver) around him to keep him from drowning. Students had to use communication and teamwork to keep Wormy from drowning by placing him in his boat. The catch? Students could only use two paper clips to complete the task while only using one hand each. The students did a wonderful job with problem solving. Students were rewarded with yummy regular and sour gummy worms!
