Hello Parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful and restful fall break with your family.

As we return back to school, please make sure we are using extreme caution when driving or walking to school. It is critical that we work together to ensure the safety of our scholars, and parents during drop off and dismissal. Please click the link below to read the parking lot rules and procedures, and morning drop off/ dismissal pick up procedures.

Lets remind our scholars to continue to stay focused, and work on achieving their goals.

LA County Public Health is recommending Flu shots for those 6 months of age and older.  Those most at risk are between 2-5 years old and pregnant women.  The flu shot is considered the first line immunization; nasal spray flu vaccine is not recommend but is used for children who won’t take shots.  Children who have never had the flu shot before need two flu shots 4 weeks apart.  The flu vaccine and TDAP are recommended for all women in their 3 rd  trimester of pregnancy.

Information received from Franklin Pratt, MD, MPHTM, FACEP,   Medical Director Immunization Program LAC Department of Public Health.

Fall pictures: Fall pictures have been delivered. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Stephanie Smith at or Lifetouch at 1-866-955-8342. Thank you.

Attendance : School attendance is important. When a child misses school, they miss a huge part of the daily classroom learning. We know vacations are an important part of family time. We encourage you to take those family vacations during Fall Break, Winter Break, Spring, or Summer break. Any absence that is vacation related is an unexcused absence and subject to the SARB (School Attendance Review Board) process which is mandated by the state of California. We lose $55 dollars per day, per student absent. Last year in the district, we had an average attendance of 96.85%. The average in previous years was 97.1%. If SUSD had stayed at 97.1% this past school year, SUSD would have received an extra $117,349. Small percentages are big funding.
If your student is going to miss five or more days of school, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible, but no less than a week. This way we can do what is called an Independent Study Contract, which is a way your student will complete all missing schoolwork under an agreement to do so. This way the absences are not unexcused. If you have any questions, please call the front office.

Raptor: Santa Clarita has a new sign in system. It requires the use of a valid Drivers licence, California ID, or Real ID. All visitors MUST be prepared to show and scan one of these items, in order to be let on campus. Should you not have one, we will require a full name and birth date upon arrival. Please be aware that the front office staff will ask you for this EVERY time you are on campus. Thank you.
