SCHMETZ needles are transitioning from a nickel finish to chrome plating. Chrome plating has proven itself as the high performance standard in the industrial arena. Effective immediately, chrome plating extends into all SCHMETZ home sewing machine needles.
The primary benefits of chrome are resisting heat and wear, resulting in impeccable stitches.
In 2016, SCHMETZ introduced the premium line of SCHMETZ Chrome Professional Grade needles. The line became very successful as end users discovered the benefits of chrome.
Converting from nickel to chrome plating is a huge manufacturing undertaking. Moving forward, inventory will be mixed until production catches up to all chrome. Chrome plating is hard to distinguish from nickel. SCHMETZ anticipates that all inventory will be chrome plated by yearend.
