Dear YULA Girls Family,

In response to the current COVID-19 situation, YULA Girls High School has decided to close school to students for the duration of the week.

A member of the YULA Boys community is being tested for COVID-19, and those results will not be available to us until the weekend. Baruch HaShem, this person is feeling well.

Out of an abundance of caution for our YULA community, we have made the decision to temporarily close our school for the remainder of this week.

Tomorrow, we will be hosting our faculty on campus for a training day on distance learning, and Friday will be used to assess our online readiness with our students as described below. All other classes and co-curricular activities, both on and off campus, are suspended (including athletics) through Monday, March 16th.

With any important development, we will communicate as soon as possible, and you will receive further communication by Sunday evening.

If school is closed for an extended period we will commence with YULA BABAYIT - YULA at Home ,  our plan to continue school utilizing online, distance learning.

Our faculty will create virtual and interactive classrooms using the Zoom video conferencing service. PowerSchool Learning will continue to be our primary learning platform and all students are directed to refer to their PowerSchool page for class assignments and Zoom links. A separate email will be sent to all students detailing the schedule and specifics of YULA BABAYIT .

While these digital tools will allow us to continue educating our students while access to campus is not possible, I recognize that this doesn’t replace the experience of actually being in school. I have full confidence in our teachers whose creativity and devotion will ensure that online teaching and learning will be productive and fruitful. Please rest assured that we are here to provide the necessary tools and support needed in order to best serve our students and our families.

We will continue to keep the YULA community informed throughout this process. YULA High Schools appreciate your partnership as we work through this new and uncharted territory. Your feedback, as always, is welcomed.

As we continue to daven for the health and well-being of all those infected with this virus around the world, we hope that Hashem will speedily bring us a complete cure and end this pandemic.
