Introducing SCICU's NEW Newsletter Format
Beginning in July 2018, the SCICU News and Notes newsletter will be coming to you via a new and improved format that is designed to be viewed well on ALL devices. The new format automatically adjusts and adapts to the device that you are currently using to read the newsletter. As a result, you will be able to read the newsletter equally well on your laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Please let us know what you think of this new layout! The House and Senate approved the Budget Conference Committee's recommendations for the FY 2018-19 budget on June 28 and sent the legislation to Governor McMaster.

The budget bill received by the Governor includes full-funding of the SC Merit Scholarship programs, funding increases to need-based grant programs, and funding to the PASCAL library program.

Tuition Grants Commission Executive Director Katie Harrison recently presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Mike LeFever, SCICU President and CEO, in recognition of his years of advocacy for the Tuition Grants Program and other programs benefiting college students. Mike will be retiring from SCICU on August 31, 2018, and has been a tremendous supporter of post-secondary education in South Carolina.

The SCICU Board of Trustees will hold its Fall 2018 meeting at Presbyterian College on September 26. At this event, the Board will announce and celebrate the selection of the SCICU McLean-Smith Student of the Year.  More info will be emailed to trustees in late July.
