SCICU presidents are the leaders we need
Message from Jeff Perez
Jeff Perez, Ph.D.
SCICU President and CEO

Will we ever shake hands again?

Hugging a loved one is now a decision.

COVID-19 is forcing all of us to face tough choices.

But making difficult decisions is something our campus leaders do every day.

Federal Update

Just when the Federal Update is put to bed, there’s something new to report.

Every day seems to bring a new wrinkle in the CARES Act, and now new regulations have been issued for Title IX.

S.C. General Assembly Update
The General Assembly is in COVID-19 limbo.

Dr. Roslyn Artis, Benedict College president, addressed the accelerateSC governance committee on April 27.
SCICU college president and trustee tapped for Gov. McMaster’s accelerateSC task force

Benedict College President Roslyn Artis and SCICU trustee Lou Kennedy, president and CEO of Nephron Pharmaceuticals and past chair of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, have been tapped by Gov. Henry McMaster for accelerateSC, a task force charged with leading the revitalization of South Carolina’s economy out of the quagmire caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Leading professors honored with SCICU Excellence In Teaching awards; awards dinner sponsor redirects donation to student aid
Superior collegiate teaching transcends the traditional boundaries of the classroom, as shown by the response of SCICU’s 2020 "Excellence In Teaching" award recipients in moving to remote/online instruction related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2020 marks the 15th year that SCICU has recognized leading professors from the 20 member colleges and universities, but marks the first and hopefully only time the annual awards dinner and celebration is sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic.
