Drillapalooza : Tuesday, March 19th, 2019
A funny name, but a serious topic-student safety.  On the morning of March 19th we will conducting a trio of drills to ensure our students understand each safety drill and the differences between them.  We will run a slightly altered schedule this day. We will be having our fire/tornado/lock down drills this morning with time for our staff to talk to kids so they understand the importance of this. We have invited our local fire and police to join us and give us feedback for improvement.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns call or text my cell 24/7.

With an Attitude of Gratitude,

Hello 6th Parents,
As we begin auditions for our spring show at WSMS, we would like to invite 6th grade students to participate.  Any 6th student who would like to act or participate in tech (lighting, mics, painting, building, etc.) should visit our theater website for more information.  The WSMS theater website can be found by clicking on the link below.  Once you arrive at the website, please click the link to the show page "Who Hath Done it?--A Shakespeare murder mystery theatre experience.  If your son or daughter would like to participate, please visit with Mrs. Dipasquale in the WSMS black box theater this week between 3:15--5:45 (Tuesday-Thursday).  If you are unable to make it to WSMS this week, please email Mrs. Dipasquale at  donella_dipasquale@lovejoyisd.net.   You can also text her at 972-977-5397.  We look forward to continuing our tradition of having 6th grade students join us for this outstanding performance on April 25, 26, and 27 at WSMS.

In addition, we will host an all cast and tech meeting on March 19th from 4:00--5:30 in the WSMS black box theatre.  This meeting will be followed by an all cast and tech parent from 5:30--6:30 in the WSMS cafeteria.  "To be or not to be"...in the show.  That is the question...

Student Kudos
Carter Wyatt and team, NTX Tribe AAA 11U, won the Baseball Nation Championship yesterday in Mesquite. 4 games in the very cold! He pitched a no hitter facing 12 batters and striking out 10 of them! And followed with an over the fence homer and many hits. Congratulations, Carter!

From the Nurse
ATTENTION 6TH GRADE PARENTS:
There are two vaccinations required by the State of Texas for 7th grade: Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) and the meningococcal vaccine.  Typically students will receive these vaccines at their 11 or 12 year old check up.  If your student receives this vaccine, please email or fax a copy of their vaccination record to me.  Please don't wait until the week before school starts to get these vaccines.  Typically there will be a shortage of the vaccines, before school starts, because it is required of all 7th grade students in Texas.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Thank you for your help!  My email is:  [email protected] and the fax # is 469-742-8401.
