Hello Sloan Creek Families,

Can you believe it?! It is almost time to welcome your sweet kiddos back to school. We are busy preparing for the year and are so excited about all the opportunities your students will have to learn and grow as a student. As you begin preparing for a busy year, please take note of some important dates coming up.  

Walk the Creek will be held on Monday, August 8th for 5th Grade and Thursday, August 11th for 6th Grade. This is a very important time to learn about the changes for the upcoming school year, pick up school supplies (if ordered through EPI), walk you student's class schedule, and meet their teachers. 

Monday, August 8th: 5th Grade students with the last name starting with A-L will meet from 3:30 PM- 4:30 PM. 5th Grade students with the last name starting with M-Z will meet from 4:45 PM- 5:45 PM. 

Thursday, August 11th: 6th Grade students with the last name starting with A-L will meet from 3:30 PM- 4:30 PM. 5th Grade students with the last name starting with M-Z will meet from 4:45 PM- 5:45 PM. 

Parking is available on campus, however, shuttle service to SCIS will be available both days from Creekwood United Methodist Church (261 Country Club Rd, 75002) beginning at 3:15 pm. 

In addition to Walk the Creek, our wonderful PTO would like to invite our incoming 5th Grade students to Kool Off with Kona Ice on Friday, August 5th from 7:00 PM-8:00 PM at Celebration Park Pavilion (701 Angel Pkwy, Allen 75002). Kona Ice is free for our 5th Grade students. You may purchase Kona Ice for non 5th grade students.

Lastly, we are so excited to introduce our new staff members. Please see below to learn about this amazing team of educators ready and excited to serve the students of Sloan Creek.

The USDA waiver that allowed us to offer free lunch to all K-6 students last school year was not renewed. Congress did not provide funding for the program. 

We will be returning back to the National School Lunch Program. The elementary paid lunch price will be $4.00 ($4.75 premium meal). To qualify for free/reduced-priced lunch, households are encouraged to complete the 2022-2023 Meal Application found on the LISD Student Nutrition webpage.

ENROLLMENT OPEN FOR LCDC!

Enroll now for the 2022-23 school year for any of the 3 exemplary child care and early childhood programs housed at the Lovejoy Child Development Center.

In addition, Lovejoy ISD is excited to share with you that we will be offering a FREE prekindergarten program for eligible students who are 4 years old by September 1, 2022, and meets at least one of the following criteria:

• Limited use of the English language 
• Is eligible to participate in the free or reduced-price lunch program 
• Meets the definition of homeless 
• The child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or the reserves and/or injured or killed while serving
• Is or ever has been in foster care 
• The child of a recipient of the Star of Texas Award 

*Students who do not meet any of the above eligibility requirements may participate as a tuition student.  

*Lovejoy ISD employees receive discounted tuition for all programs offered at the LCDC.
