Raising Awareness of CMR During Heart Health Month

February is American Heart Month, sponsored annually by the American Heart Association. In an effort to promote the importance of cardiac health awareness and the value of CMR, SCMR distributed a  press release . In it, the benefits of CMR  and how it is used is explained and defined. We encourage you to share this with your institution's marketing department so they can promote these valuable messages to their audiences. Next month, SCMR will be participating in Amyloidosis Awareness Month and promoting the use of CMR in an effort to achieve our mission of advancing CMR.

SCMR Scientific Session Award Recipients & Abstracts

Over 1,400 gathered in snowy Bellevue for the 22nd SCMR Scientific Sessions . If you missed this year's meeting, visit the SCMR website to view award recipients or the abstract proceedings. Selected sessions from the meeting have been recorded and will be posted to the online learning portal in mid-March.


CMR Stress Test Shows Promise at Identifying Fatal Heart Disease

A study from Duke Health researchers shows that stress CMR not only diagnoses disease, but can also predict which cases are potentially fatal.  Results from a large, multi-center study suggest that CMR, has potential as a non-invasive, non-toxic alternative to stress echocardiograms, catheterizations and stress nuclear exams in identifying the severity of coronary artery disease. The study appears online Feb. 8 in JAMA Cardiology.

SCMR Survey - Member Input Needed 

SCMR is collecting member input in a brief survey. The survey contains 14 questions and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Please complete by Tuesday, March 5th.
