Government Shutdown Impact: Thank You

We know many of you were impacted by the government shutdown. Thank you for continuing to put our clients first, even though some of our facilities were unavailable. Your efforts made sure that people in your communities could continue to work on or towards their dreams. Our total services were down, but we will work to help you however we can in order to reach and support the small businesses in your area. Let us know how we can help by emailing  volunteer.services@score.org.
New CRM System Update

One of SCORE's top priorities remains delivering a better CRM system that enables you as volunteers to better serve your clients and manage your chapters.
We are in the midst of the design portion of the project. We are designing the system around three major "journeys".
  1. Volunteer
  2. Mentoring
  3. Workshop
Once design for each journey is complete, we will begin active testing in March 2019. We are on track to start rolling out the system this fall.
We have been actively engaging an Early Adopter volunteer group to provide feedback on each portion of the journey designs. This group is made up of volunteer users of CORE in chapters across the country. These chapters include:
  • New York City
  • Akron OH
  • Charlotte NC
  • Santa Cruz CA
  • Central Wisconsin
  • Richmond VA
  • Buffalo
  • Volusia/Flagler
  • SE Minnesota
  • NW Arkansas
Here is some of the feedback we have received from the volunteers in that group so far:

"It is clear that tremendous thought went into the design and implementation strategy for how the new systems will work...Any questions around design/process have been clearly and logically explained, further validating the intent and thoughtfulness of the design."

"I feel very privileged to be involved in the Early adopters group meetings. The thoroughness and the openness of the group to propose (and get accepted) changes that enhance the processes is amazing. For the incoming volunteers the processes will be fluid and directed to the best resolution of volunteer on boarding."

Engagement Survey Updates

The Client Engagement survey collection is nearing completion. The data will be shared in February or March. Your chapter and state data will be shared at that time as long as we had enough responses for your chapter.
The Volunteer Engagement survey will go live in March. Please keep an eye out for that email and take the time to respond as it helps us to improve how we serve you and help make volunteering at SCORE a better experience.
Centralized Accounting Update

One of our major initiatives this fiscal year is centralizing our accounting . In doing so,  we aim to reduce the burden on SCORE chapter chairs and treasurers in terms of reporting requirements and bookkeeping and clerical duties. Chapters maintain control over how, when , and where they spend and raise their monies. We are regularly communicating about this in a monthly Accounting Bulletin.
