SCORE Volunteer Engagement Survey Coming in March

SCORE's annual Volunteer Engagement survey will go live March 10th. Your feedback on this survey helps SCORE as an organization to improve and create a better volunteering experience.

Thanks to your feedback in 2019 SCORE has made the following improvements:
  • Increased our emphasis on One SCORE
  • Better defined SCORE's various volunteer roles and classifications as we move to Engage
  • Incorporated a review of the chapter's own volunteer engagement survey results in the annual chapter on site review report
Please be on the lookout for the opportunity to provide your feedback. The email will be coming from pwcsurveysupport@us.pwc.com.
New Support Center Now Available

The new Support Center is now available for your use at help.score.org. This is also available from a button on our volunteer home page, and a menu item in Engage as chapters migrate to the new Engage platform.

What is the Support Center?

The SCORE Support Center is a central hub and searchable knowledgebase. It serves to centralize SCORE's operation information and resources, enable content to be kept up to date and maintained, and better service the functions of SCORE. The Support Center will merge and replace the existing Volunteer Center and Help Center sites.

Volunteer Center + Help Desk = Support Center

The current Volunteer Center will still be maintained and accessible over the next few months as our volunteers start to use the new Support Center. Both sites will live simultaneously until we feel confident that our volunteers are comfortable with the new site.

SCORE HQ will hold open Q&A webinars each month for all volunteers to review the Support Center. Webinars will be held on the following dates:

  • Wed March 11 @ 1 PM ET
  • Wed April 15 @ 1 PM ET
Please send comments about your experience with the new Support Center site to volunteer.services@score.org
Introducing - Timeline Checklist for Hosting a Women's Conference

A checklist for producing a successful event.

We know that SCORE's client base is 61% women. They start businesses at a faster rate than men but sometimes have unique needs and challenges. These conferences cater to this group by offering networking and educational opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

The conferences will build community and give a chapter the opportunity to collaborate with other community partners. There is a huge demand and with SCORE taking a leadership role you can be assured of success. They also are a great avenue to attract new clients and volunteers.

Also available on the SCORE Volunteer Center.

Many thanks to these volunteers for this timeline:
Sally Broff - San Diego
Mariann Zylstra - DC
Tamra Avrit - Hilton Head
Jessica Long - Southwest Missouri
Mary Overby - Southwest Missouri
Suzann Dick - Ft. Worth, TX
Eye on Engage
The transition from CORE to Engage has started in earnest, with our Early Adopters set to go-live in March.   As a way to increase awareness about Engage and help chapters prepare, we will be highlighting an Engage Resource in the NYCU each month.

This month we want to make sure everyone is familiar with what Engage is and why SCORE is making this transition.  This information and more can be found in the Introduction to SCORE Engage presentation (previously presented at NLC 2019).

Additionally, we want chapters to be familiar with the overall transition process so they can begin preparing their chapters regardless of their transition Wave.  Please check out the Engage Roll-out Orientation to get a sense of what you can be doing now to be ready for your Engage transition.
