U.S. Supreme Court Updates
Ballot Collection Extension Struck Down
In a 5-3 decision this week, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling that will require Wisconsin absentee ballots to be received by election day in order to be counted. The majority and dissenting opinions hinged on differing interpretations of the Purcell principle and their application to the case. CSG National Conference Reimagined
The COVID-19 pandemic has put meeting in person on hold, but learning and collaboration are still a priority for CSG. Members are invited to join virtual sessions addressing a variety of topics important to states and their ongoing efforts from now through December 18.
COVID-19 State Emergency Measures
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic NEMA has provided data updates on state emergency measures. Key highlights from recent updates include and expansion of mask mandate to all indoor workplaces in Oregon and the Texas Governor allowing schools to operate at 100% capacity.
