Introducing a new way to find out what’s happening in South Carolina. SCRA has added a new calendar to our website. In addition to all the great webinars and events offered by SCRA and others, the calendar also includes links to past newsletters and other items of interest to the state’s STEM and small business interests. Calendar is searchable – by keywords or categories. You can even export events to your own personal calendar. To access, use the News and Events tab located on the top left of our website.

(From LinkedIn) Hayden Shipley, Finance student, UofSC Darla Moore School of Business writes: “I am pleased to announce that I have been selected as a winner in the UofSC COVID-19 Ideas Challenge, a competition to facilitate mitigation of the pandemic’s effects through the innovation of University of South Carolina students. I have been awarded $1,000 to kick-start my idea, “A Good Day for a Good Meal.” The concept is a mobile platform that partners with local restaurants and allows users to ‘pay what they can’ for high-quality restaurant meals. The benefit to this idea is two-fold by both supporting local businesses and community members during this uncertain time and beyond. I am very grateful to The McNair Institute for Entrepreneurism and Free Enterprise, Faber Entrepreneurship Center, and the South Carolina Research Authority for sponsoring the competition and allowing me to turn my idea into a reality.”
