SCRA welcomes two new team members
Kelsie Davis joined the Marketing and Communications Team, from the Medical University of South Carolina, as the new Communications Manager, working with Adrian Grimes, our new Director of Marketing and Communications. Kelsie replaces Cyndy Buckhaults who has been working with us to help transition in our new MarCom team.
Andy Olsen will be joining SCRA’s Finance and Administration Team this Monday, June 1 as a Business Development Representative, a brand new role in our company. Andy’s sole focus will be to increase IPF contributions by proactively sharing the benefits of helping to fuel the innovation economy in South Carolina.
As industry begins to reopen across the state, life science companies turn their sights to expanding COVID-19 diagnostic and antibody testing options for the workplace. SC Launch, Inc. Portfolio Company, Precision Genetics, based in Greenville, partnered with Prisma Health in early April to process the health care system’s COVID-19 tests within 24-hours of reaching the lab. Facebook products to help small businesses succeed in a digital economy. Facebook released results of a report from 86,000 small businesses showing the damaging effects of the COVID-19 recession. MidlandsBiz spoke with with Diana Doukas, Policy Manager at Facebook about Facebook’s new programs and products (Facebook Shops, Live Shopping, and Loyalty Programs) to help small businesses join and succeed in the digital economy.
Three states plan to use Apple-Google contact tracing system. Alabama, North Dakota and South Carolina were the first states to announce plans to develop contact tracing apps that would use a framework developed by Apple and Google. Apple and Google launched their exposure notification API on Wednesday. The exposure notification gives users an alert if they recently came into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
