A Note From the Executive Director

I am pleased to announce that Russell Cook is the new Director of SC Academic Innovations. Russell served as program director for SC Launch when it began operations in 2006 and authored the University Startup Assistance Grant (now Academic Startup Assistance Grant). He also served as managing director of Comporium Ventures where he managed the company’s strategic investment portfolio.

A graduate of Wofford College, Russell spent fourteen years as a trustee for SC Independent Colleges and Universities, Inc., and served as board chair for a two-year term. He is a member of the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association and has earned the designation of South Carolina Certified Economic Developer. Please join me in welcoming Russell.
