SCRA Announces SC Launch, Inc. April and May Investments

SCRA and its investment affiliate, SC Launch, Inc. announce its April and May investments in two South Carolina companies — a $200,000 investment in Land Intelligence, Inc. and a $200,000 investment to VIATEC, Inc. Land Intelligence, based in Columbia, SC, became an SC Launch Client Company in January of this year. Based in Greenville, SC, VIATEC became an SC Launch Client Company in January 2018.

an SCRA funded company, is an innovative IT-solutions and software development company, that recently announced that it has received acknowledgment from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), of its pre-submission package for its proprietary artificial intelligence (AI)-driven medical imaging software. BluedocaiTM will assist with the medical diagnosis of diseases such as COVID-19.

City of Charleston launches Citibot, interactive texting tool for Citizens

The City of Charleston announced the launch of
Citibot,
“an interactive text messaging and customer service tool for civic engagement with government.” Citibot is an SCRA funded company. The tool serves as a communication platform for citizens and government. Citibot is able to answer questions “regarding business licenses, garbage and trash collection, permits, public meetings, and more.”

Nephron Pharmaceuticals is expanding to prepare for COVID vaccine distribution.
When a vaccine becomes available to protect people against the novel coronavirus, Nephron Pharmaceuticals wants to take part in getting it to the masses. And it’s investing $215 million in anticipation. The expansion to increase warehousing had been planned for some time, but when the international coronavirus pandemic broke out, Nephron CEO and SCRA Board of Trustees member Lou Kennedy, began thinking about what she could do to participate in the battle against it.

Mask Up initiative distributes 10,000 masks.
Since the
Greenville Chamber
and local companies joined forces to distribute masks to small businesses under the Mask Up initiative, more than 10,000 masks were distributed by July 9 with 30,000 more in the works.
The Greenville Chamber and US&S Facility Services first began the campaign with an objective to donate up to 10,000 masks, but with donations from
BMW
,
Hubbell Lighting
,
International Vitamin
and
Sonfast
,
the group has been able to expand their store by 32,000+ facial coverings.
