New Industry Partnership Fund Position
The South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) has announced that Andy Olsen was named Business Development Manager on June 1st. The Business Development Manager role is a new one solely focused on increasing contributions to the Industry Partnership Fund (IPF). Since its inception in 2006, the IPF provides dollar-for-dollar state tax credits to contributors.Read more.

B.C. Killough named to SCRA Boards
Barnwell Whaley member and registered patent attorney B.C. Killough has been named to two of the newly created South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) Business and Science Advisory Boards - Biomedical Sciences and Industry 4.0 - the latter of which he will serve as chair. He also serves on SCRA’s Medical Device Commercialization Advisory Panel (MDCAP).Read more.

Verizon to launch mentoring program for female entrepreneurs affected by COVID-19.Verizon will launch a mentoring program aimed at providing female entrepreneurs and business owners with a network of female business leaders to coach them on navigating a COVID-19 reality. The initiative comes after a company survey found that 49% of women-owned small businesses would find it helpful to find access to a network of like-minded female business leaders to navigate a post COVID-19 reality.
