Education Background:
BA in History from Columbia, 2016
MLIS Candidate, Simmons
What was your work background before starting your MLIS program?
Predominantly bartending and moving furniture, and bicycle deliveries in Brooklyn for 6 years.
What attracted you to the library profession?
I have always loved books and the pursuit of knowledge, and even more so the preservation of memory. It's the same base reasons that draw me to history. I would like to work as an information professional to help people better understand their world.
What type of library job do you see yourself in when you finish your program?
Hopefully, something in an archive, special collection, or a museum. I like specific and niche topics.
What projects are you working on at SCRLC?
I am currently working on collecting materials to curate an online exhibit about the flooding associated with Hurricane Irene in 1972.
What is one thing you would like to learn?
One doesn't simply learn just one thing. But if I had to pick one, I really should get a better sense of what happened between Columbus and Napoleon. Because 300 years counts as one thing, clearly.

What is your favorite winter activity?
For staying warm it's a tie between deadlifts and making soup.
Thanks Sam. We're glad to have you!
