When President Barack Obama's administration wrote new rules aimed at better protecting the nation's waterways and wetlands, it sent ripples of anxiety through farm country.

A national utility corporation that operates small water systems across South Carolina says it will begin testing drinking water for a group of toxins that have caused increasing concern about their effects on people's health. 
EPA Says YES  to PFAS D rin king Water Regulations
On Thursday, the EPA Administrator announced that the Agency is proposing to regulate two contaminants, PFOS and PFOA, under the Safe Drinking Water Act. EPA will seek comment on these preliminary determinations for 60 days after the notice is published in the Federal Register.

Stevens Leads 50 House Democrats in Call for Stronger Lead and Copper Rule
Led by Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11), 50 members of the U.S. House of Representatives signed a letter delivered today to Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Andrew Wheeler to express deep concerns about the proposed revisions to the EPA's Lead and Copper Rule. In the letter, Members of Congress recommended that the EPA require all lead service lines to be fully and promptly removed by public water systems to reduce the risk of lead exposure, called for stronger public awareness efforts to reach at-risk consumers, and called for increased federal funding for water infrastructure improvements.
