A note from Keri Murphy, CRE
By now you know that the St. Michael Prayer is being recited after all masses. Archbishop Aymond has requested that we join him in this prayer asking for St. Michael, the Archangel, to protect the church from the devil.

Trivia:
St. Michael, St. Gabriel and St. Raphael are the only three saints identified by name in the bible. St. Michael is the defender, St. Gabriel is God’s messenger and St. Raphael is the protector of travelers. It is written in the bible: “God will command his angels concerning you, to guard you, with their hands they will support you, lest you dash your foot against a stone.” What song mentions those words? Yes, On Eagles Wings

We can always turn to our angels for protection and guidance in our lives.

        Prayer to St. Michael
Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of
the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the
power of God, cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

Registration for Alpha is OPEN!

Alpha is a weekly gathering of people to share a meal, watch a video, and talk about the "big questions" in life: What is the meaning of life? Why am I here?
It's an opportunity to think about what we believe, why we believe it, and what it has to do with how we live. No prior knowledge is required and no particular point of view is expected. Many of the over 200 SCS parishioners who have done Alpha call it "life changing." Come see what it's all about! *No charge; dinner and childcare provided! Contact [email protected] to register or for more information.
Service Hour Opportunity Available
St. Catherine's child care is looking for help, from 5th graders and above, during the Sunday masses at 9:00 and 11:00. Advanced notice is appreciated. We meet in the Melancon Center.  Please contact Madylin Schneller at [email protected] for more info or to sign up.
