SCSC Releases 2024-25 Charter School Accountability Results
| |
In April 2026, the State Charter Schools Commission (SCSC) released the 2024-25 Comprehensive Performance Framework (CPF) results for state-authorized (state) charter schools, and the SCSC's Office of Charter School Compliance (OCSC) released the inaugural 2024-25 Academic Accountability Report for locally-authorized charter schools based on the Local Comprehensive Performance Framework (LCPF).
State Charter School CPF Results
The CPF is the SCSC's official accountability tool, evaluating each state charter school annually across three performance areas that correspond directly with the three core components of a strong charter school: academic achievement, financial management, and organizational compliance.
The CPF establishes clear expectations, guides best practices, tracks progress, and informs SCSC decisions throughout the charter term, including at renewal.
The following schools met or exceeded standards in all three areas for the 2024-25 school year:

- Academy for Classical Education
- Atlanta SMART Academy

Locally-Authorized Charter School Academic Accountability Results
The OCSC and the State Board of Education adopted the LCPF in November 2025 to set clear, quantifiable, and rigorous goals for charter schools authorized by local school districts. The Academic Accountability Report is based on the academic components of the LCPF. It assesses whether the educational programming at locally-authorized charter schools provides students with better opportunities than they would otherwise receive in traditional district schools. The LCPF informs the OCSC's decisions throughout the charter term, including at renewal.
The following schools met or exceeded the academic standards of the LCPF for the 2024-25 school year.

D.E.L.T.A. STEAM Academy (DSA) 5th grader Justice Dobbs addressed the Board of Commissioners at the April 29th meeting, reflecting on the school's impact on her growth as a student, leader, and published author. Dobbs was one of the founding kindergarten students at DSA when the school opened in fall 2020. Over the last six years, she has served on the Principal's Council, won the MLK oratorical contest two years in a row, consistently earned a place on the Principal's List for straight A's, and at age 10, published her first book, Getting to Know the Confident Girl in the Mirror, available on Amazon.
In her remarks to the board, Dobbs spoke about how the school’s STEAM-integrated approach has shaped her. "STEAM has taught me that learning is not just about reading from a book," she said. "It is about asking questions, being creative, solving problems, and discovering things about the world and about ourselves."
She also reflected on how the school's culture of leadership shaped her confidence. "D.E.L.T.A. STEAM Academy has not only helped me grow as a student, but also as a writer, a speaker, and a young leader," Dobbs told commissioners. "My school has given me confidence, courage, and a voice."
D.E.L.T.A. STEAM Academy is located in Douglas County and serves students in grades K-8 from Carroll, Douglas, Paulding, South Cobb, and South Fulton County school districts. DSA has met academic standards every year of its charter term, outperforming its comparison school score on at least one academic measure across every grade band it serves.
Next Board Meeting
The next SCSC Board meeting is scheduled for June 24, 2026, at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held in the SCSC Board Room and streamed virtually.

TEDx Talk
Nandi Edouard, Founder and Executive Director of The Simple Vue Academy (SVA), was selected from more than 400 applicants to deliver a talk at TEDxEnsley Avenue ED, where she shared the philosophy and community engagement process behind SVA's founding. Her talk centered on the idea that “communities are not underserved but under-listened to,” and how that distinction shaped the 18-month co-design process through which SVA was built with more than 1,000 community stakeholders before opening its doors.
Edouard described how community listening became the foundation for SVA's instructional model, school culture, and family engagement programming, and how the trust built through that process continues to drive student outcomes. The talk also discussed the funding and programming supported through the school's CSP SE subgrant (awarded by the SCSC).
The Simple Vue Academy is located in Douglasville, GA, and is authorized to serve students in grades 6-12 from Cobb, Douglas, Fulton, and Paulding County School Districts.
