SCT's 2021 Annual Meeting: September 29 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Out of an abundance of caution, Sonoma County Tourism has elected to shift its originally planned hybrid meeting to an exclusively virtual format, free to attend via Zoom, on September 29 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Great thanks to the Flamingo for the flexibility in planning this meeting!)
The Meeting

The meeting will include a special presentation on responsible travel from guest speaker Andrew Leary with the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics. Andrew oversees curriculum and program development for LNT, and worked with Sonoma County Tourism and Sonoma County Regional Parks on the development of the Sonoma County Leave No Trace Seven Principles.

Additionally, SCT will go over traveler sentiment research and trends, and feature updates from the Sonoma County Tourism staff.
Stars of the Industry

The meeting will also celebrate our Stars of the Industry! This NEW awards program was designed to recognize those within the local hospitality trade that go above and beyond to elevate the guest experience. Awards will be issued in the categories of Customer Engagement, Environmental Stewardship/Sustainable Practices, Front of the House, and Heart of the House.

Guest Speaker, Andrew Leary with the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics
Andrew Leary is the Senior Manager of National Outreach at the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics in Boulder, Colorado. As a member of the Center's Education Team, Andrew designs education initiatives that reach travelers and visitors in tourism sectors focused on destination stewardship. Adjacent to Leave No Trace, Andrew brings a perspective from his ongoing work in the adventure tourism industry, as well as previous experience in the outdoor retail industry.
