IFMA & BOMA Joint Expo

"Step Right Up! A Carnival of Services"

As you walked in, it was impossible to miss the bright balloons, the smell of popcorn, the sounds of games and laughter, and of course, the stilt walker! IFMA and BOMA joined forces this year to host an expo that neither organization had ever seen within its chapters.

"Step Right Up! A Carnival of Services" was a "sold out" event that hosted over 90 vendor booths with prize wheels, photo booths, piggy races, and other various games and entertainment. Many of the vendors were in costumes and there was a buzz about the entire event. All who participated were having great fun. It was a fantastic opportunity to network with new business partners as well as new prospective clients and suppliers. Facility managers and property managers had the opportunity to mingle and meet each other as well as to meet with current service providers.

Bingo cards were used to incentivize professional members to visit booths. Completed bingo cards were turned in for a chance to win gift cards from $50 to $200. At every turn, people were spied playing games, networking, and shaking hands. Although we had the sudden and unexpected rain, the property and facility managers were not deterred to attend the "Greatest Show of the Year!" For the associates that are only members of one of the organizations, they had exposure to potential new clients and connections and gave them insight into what the other organization can offer. IFMA will definitely see a boost in membership as there was quite some interest from prospective members at our booth.

In all, the vendors put great effort into making their booths amazing and the facility and property managers were dazzled by them! Above all of the wonderful professional outcomes of the day - making new contacts, securing contracts, building stronger relationships - fun was had! Next year promises to be bigger and better thanks to the commitment of the committee members that worked so hard to make this event come to life! If you are interested in participating on the Joint Expo Committee next year, please reach out to our chapter president, Lisa Chappell.

Thank you to all who sponsored tables and attended the event!
