We're all in this together. We make each other strong!
Being there for each other, is where we all belong!
"
Dear Southern Door Community,
There are so many things we need to do with our children to prepare them to graduate college, career, and community ready. As educators and parents, we experience the “whole child” on a daily basis and know that we can not separate learning and social/emotional development. That is probably more imperative today than it ever was before, as we look at continuing education and helping our children adapt to the increased social and emotional impacts of this COVID-19 time. Click on the links below to access two 8-minute videos from our STRIDE partnership through the United Way of Door County. The have great practical tips to consider for your family.
We are certainly in difficult times and unfortunately there is not a perfect script or plan for how to do things; however, we do want to be able to honor the special events in the lives of our students, especially our seniors. As we consider alternatives to the annual traditions that occur at this time of year, we have networked with other educators and state officials to ensure compliance with Governor Evers’ orders. We also have been working closely with our local health dept, liability insurance, and attorney to bring forward the best possible options to keep everyone safe. These agencies assist the District in measuring the level of risk and potential liability for any of the ideas that have been generated. During this coming week, we plan to share the results of some of this comprehensive planning with our families.
Please know that our staff is here to support you and your family! We appreciate your continued partnership with us to educate your children and our community's support! It is the foundation for why we are Eagle Proud and Eagle Strong! Stay safe and keep healthy!
Patti
Patricia Vickman, Superintendent
