Project Accountant / Controller (CO Architects)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the firm's vision and strategic goals
  • Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the firm's Principals to ensure financial performance objectives
  • Leadership and oversite of accounting operations including project accounting, payroll, consultant and accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee timesheet and expense processing, etc.
  • Oversee monthly closing and provide accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting
  • Monthly reconciliation of operating account and general ledger
  • Develop and update annual/quarterly operating budget
  • Support year-end financial planning
  • Liaison with Project Managers to ensure financial performance goals
  • Project accounting oversite including billing, percent complete and WIP analysis, updating monthly labor projections, consultant fee management, etc.
  • Provide accurate financial data to outside entities including CPA, bank, insurance providers, valuation consultants, regulatory agencies, etc.
  • Coordinate CPA's annual review, audit and tax compliance functions
  • Ensure proper qualifications in states where the firm does business
  • Provide general and accounting software training to the accounting team and others
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement of accounting policies, systems and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor and/or Master degree in business, accounting, finance or related discipline
  • Senior accounting position experience within a related industry (architecture, engineering, construction)
  • Expert knowledge of Deltek Vision and Microsoft Office
  • Comprehensive understanding of project accounting including billing, budgeting, labor and expense tracking, percent complete accounting, WIP management, and facilitating optimal financial performance
  • Project experience with construction budgets >$20M
  • Detail-oriented, proactive and capable of effectively managing multiple tasks, projects and deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Innovative spirit willing to challenge standards where opportunities for improvement exist

Senior Director and Business Development and Marketing (tk1sc) 
The tk1sc Business Development and Marketing Leader is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of the organization's marketing and business development initiatives.  This position requires strong leadership skills, experience in project management, experience with proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, and a high level of business acumen.  The Business Development and Marketing Leader will develop and manage our website, internal CRM database, and work to align internal and external communication with the firm's vision and strategies.
 
Essential Function Statement(s):
  • Advanced knowledge of own discipline/department.
  • Actively participates in problem solving and making marketing, business development and organizational decisions.
  • Ability to gather appropriate resources in order to solve problems.
  • Customarily and regularly directs the work of the entire department of marketing and business development staff, and exercises independent judgment and discretion in supervision.
  • Develops and executes department specific training programs.
  • Actively monitors and evaluates appropriate team specific staffing resource allocations to meet business and team needs.
  • Believes in and champions the firms' core values and inspires others to do the same.
  • Empowers, encourages, and rewards others at a department and firm level for innovative thinking.
  • Meets a high level of executive communication, including effective written and verbal communication and presentation.  Also has a high level of internal and external presentations with integrated concepts.  Has the ability to have direct and even difficult conversations with staff, clients, firm, and owners.

 Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive annual business development and marketing plans, including targets and metrics, and serve as primary strategy advisor to the Partners.
  • Manage the preparation and draft of the content of marketing materials (resumes, proposals, quals, etc.).
  • Develop and manage our social media strategy including our company website, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Oversee the company's public relations, including publications.
  • Assist the Executive Group with internal communications. Align internal and external communication with firm's vision and strategies.
  • Maximize marketing effectiveness and efficiency by gathering and disseminating best practices throughout the organization.
  • Monitor and control firm wide marketing activities, expenses, results, and other metrics; perform assessments on business acquisition performance and effectiveness.
  • Conduct strategic research and implement strategies in support of the firm's designated market sectors and explore new growth markets.
  • Perform benchmarking in designated markets, including competition, strategic intelligence, and market and industry trends.
  • Monitor and manage database to extract, categorize and retrieve information related to marketing.
  • Approve budgets and allocate funds for target clients' conferences, printed material, etc. where the strategy and goals reflect the firm's vision and strategic position.
  • Lead go/no-go decisions; assess each potential pursuit in regard to its ability to meet the firm's strategic positioning and goals.
  • Ensure all materials are appropriately focused on client benefits and differentiators, while consistent with the firm's promotional identity.
 
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:         
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing required
Master's in Business Administration preferred
 
Experience:       
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the A/E/C industry in positions of increasing responsibility, with a focus on marketing expansion
  • 5 years in a leadership role
  • 8 years' experience with database development
Computer Skills:             
  • MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, outlook and others.
  • CRM Database required. Deltek Vision preferred.
 
Certifications & Licenses:          CPSM certification preferred
 
Other Requirements:
  • Superior communication skills with a team-oriented attitude.
  • Excellent leadership/managerial and mentoring/teaching skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
