News and Updates IISE Annual Conference 2024 Call for Abstracts  Need to know: The Sustainable Development Track is looking for you to share your experience or research in the application of industrial and systems engineering methods in support of environmental, community, or corporate and non-profit sustainability. Deadline: Abstracts must be submitted by midnight November 17th. Details: Click here for the full call for abstracts: Sustainable Development Track Fall Webinar: Decarbonizing supermarket refrigeration by applying systems thinking combining IOT & Machine Learning (AI) Need to Know: Advisor, corporate board member, investor and executive David Reitz will present a pioneering systems engineering approach that has combined iOT and Machine Learning to reduce releases of HFC refrigerants that are up to 4000x more potent than CO2 in causing global warming.   Save the Date: Wednesday, November 29th at 1:00 pm EST   Register: for more information click here: Webinar Registration 2024 Conference Volunteer Service Project Need to Know: This year we will be trying something new – in addition to our traditional hands on volunteer opportunity we are arranging for two or three additional teams of experts to provide a morning of ISE consulting identifying ways to improve the operations of non-profit organizations like Vergers d'Afrique (Orchards of Africa) which recycles plastic tubes from maple groves to produce irrigation systems in Africa.   Save the Date: Saturday May 18, 2024. Leaving from the Montreal conference site at approximately 8:45 AM and returning at 1:30 PM   Details: Are being developed and will be shared as soon as available.
