SDS/HCBS COVID PROTOCOL UPDATE

As you know, the CDC has classified Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Madison, and Otsego counties as counties with high COVID-19 transmission. In keeping with our proactive approach throughout this pandemic, SDS/HCBS is putting into effect COVID-19 protocol updates to ensure the safety of participants, and staff.

Beginning on Monday, August 30, 2021, all staff members must wear a mask while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. This mask mandate is in effect because transmission rates in our community continue to climb. Unvaccinated people are at the highest risk for contracting the virus and developing serious symptoms, hospitalizations, and death. Masks are a proven way to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and protect each other from exposure.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • It is highly recommended that all employees, regardless of vaccination status or work location, wear a mask while indoors
  • All employees must wear masks while transporting participants in a vehicle
  • You may be asked by individuals/families served to provide proof of vaccine status – please openly provide this if requested
FULLY VACCINATED EMPLOYEES

  • May wear a mask of their choosing (cloth, surgical, or KN95)
  • May remove masks when providing services outdoors
  • May remove masks indoors when working alone in an office
  • May take breaks and mealtimes outdoors with other fully vaccinated employees.
  • Must maintain 6ft of distance during mealtimes/breaks when no outdoor or private space is available
UNVACCINATED EMPLOYEES

  • Must wear KN95 masks on any Springbrook property (indoors and outdoors), office location, or Springbrook-operated home (on or off campus)
  • Must remain masked while outdoors
  • Must take breaks and mealtimes alone
  • May remove masks indoors when working alone in an office
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND

In keeping with the CDC's recommendations for our area, Springbrook highly recommends that all employees wear a mask while indoors at public places in our community (like stores and restaurants).
PLEASE NOTE

  • People are fully vaccinated 2-weeks after their final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
  • We are still providing a financial incentive for employees who receive their COVID-19 vaccination. Having your vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others you support from contracting the virus
