Mission Statement

Sigma Delta Tau empowers each member to reach her fullest potential by enriching the experience of women with similar ideals, building lasting relationships, promoting civic responsibility and fostering personal growth.

Values

Individuality : Enable each member to be her authentic self and empower her to reach her fullest potential through leadership and personal skills for academic and professional success.

Connection : Create a sense of belonging and meaningful relationships for sisters, not only in the sorority, but also within the community and world around them.

Engagement : Participate in a lifetime experience which provides opportunities and a network of personal and professional support for every phase of a sister’s life.

Community : Instill a sense of philanthropy and generosity in sisters and build purposeful partnerships to enhance the mission and goals of the Sorority.
Save the Date in Pittsburgh
We are holding a football watch party (Pitt vs PSU) on September 14 in Pittsburgh and would love for you to join us. During the watch party, we will share our plans to return to Pitt and how you can get involved. Please come even if you are not a football fan - it’s a great way to meet your Pittsburgh area sisters!

SDT is returning to Pitt this year and we are looking for outstanding undergraduate women from all class years! If you know of any women at Pitt who would be great founders, we would love a recommendation .

Organize a Day of Service Project in Your City

Apply to Mentor a Sister Today!
We are excited to kick off the second semester of the SDT Mentor Program to connect sisters with one another for professional guidance! This is a great opportunity to pay it forward to sisters seeking career advice and valuable professional volunteer experience.
 
We recognize that mentorship experiences vary, so we want to explain what the SDT Mentor Program entails with our program partner, Ambition In Motion .
 
Through our mentorship program, mentors commit to conducting a minimum of three, 30-minute conversations with their mentees over the course of one semester. The conversations can take place in-person, with a phone call or via video chat. Mentees can either be current collegians or alumnae who are seeking guidance as they transition into their professional career.
 
Ambition In Motion works to help ensure that you are matched with the ideal mentee and are provided a structure that has proven to help foster healthy, successful mentorships.

Interested in a Career Mentor?

From this program, you will learn how to:
●      pursue new job opportunities
●      apply for a graduate degree
●      navigate difficult professional situations
●      transition into a management role
 
We’ve partnered with Ambition In Motion to ensure that you are matched with the ideal mentor and are provided programming and content to help you succeed.

Potential Member and Legacy Recommendations
Is your daughter, granddaughter or someone you know going through recruitment this fall? Did you know that you can recommend them for membership in SDT?

A legacy is a sister, daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter and step relationship (e.g., step-sister/daughter) of a member. Legacies are given special consideration throughout the recruitment process. To read more about the legacy policy and to recommend a legacy, click here .

As an alumna member of SDT you are also able to recommend anyone you know going through formal recruitment this fall to a chapter. To recommend a Potential New Member, visit our website . Recommendations are sent directly to the chapters by the National Office.
