Dear current 8th grade, 9th grade, 10th grade and 11th grade Sinfonia and Wind Symphony Parents and Musicians,

I hope that you are doing well and having a wonderful Spring Season.
I am writing let you know about a special  Ovation Program Audition Q and A meeting for the upcoming June auditions for the for the 2019-20 Season.

The Ovation ensembles are the highest level ensembles in the SDYS programs and offer students and families exciting repertoire, concert performances, leadership and community opportunities and outstanding musical training at the highest level of SDYS.

On Saturday, May 11 at the conclusion of the Sinfonia rehearsal, from 1:00pm to 1:40pm, I will be hosting an informal meeting and get together for all interested Sinfonia and Wind Symphony students and parents in Room 205 in Balboa Park to share details about the Ovation ensembles and to have an informal Q and A session for students and parents to learn about Ovation auditions practice tips, and much more about the many exciting opportunities for students and families in our Ovation ensembles at SDYS.

This year all Sinfonia and Wind Symphony musicians who are eligible by grade level, and who will be in 9th grade and higher for 2019-20 will have the opportunity to be considered for placement to move into the Ovation Program when they audition at our upcoming June auditions. Students may also apply to be considered for an Ovation Leadership Position as well.

I will be able to share and answer questions about the Ovation ensembles and Ovation auditions at the workshop on Saturday, May 11.

I hope to see you all at 1pm on Saturday, May11 in Room 205 in Balboa Park after Sinfonia rehearsal, and I look forward to meeting you all in person!

Please feel free to email me at jedmons@sdys.org , if I can provide any additional assistance or can answer any questions that you might have about the Ovation Program.
