Final Chance to Nominate Deacons
After careful deliberation and much prayer the Deacon Nominating Committee is honored to present the following church members as Deacon candidates to be placed on the 2014 Deacon Ballot:

Charleston Tea Garden Ladies Day Out
Daughters, Moms, Grandmothers, Friends...all:  We will meet in the Prince Street parking lot at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 14th and travel by car, caravan style, leaving at 10:00 a.m.  The Tea Plantation is family-friendly, as well as the place we will stop for lunch. We will be guided through the Tea Plantation by a member of the staff, ensuring we experience everything there, including a Trolley Car Tour and the Tea Factory Tour. The cost is $15.00 per person, and includes a keepsake gift bag. Tea-Tasting is free! There's lots more information at the website, www.charlestonteaplantation.com. Chairs for Sale!
Now that we have new chairs for The Fellowship Hall, we need to make room to store them. Around 200 used folding chairs are now available for purchase for $5 per chair. Call Luis directly at 252-4107 for more information.

New Flooring!
The front office will be closed on June 5 and 6 for new flooring to be put down. Anyone wanting to help pack up our offices to prepare for this is welcome on Monday and Tuesday.

Highlights, Church business meeting May 18 2014
  • New members were introduced
  • The Financial report showed the church  ended  April in the black by $3356  Contributions are below budget but expenditure are also below budget.  CEC also ended last month in black by  $7555
  • A second lot of the three involved in the King Street swap has been sold.  The mortgage on the King  Street property was satisfied with the proceeds from the sale of the first lot
  • An update on the progress of the Visioning Process included the announcement of  the formation of a Navigation Team to help implement the Process.
  • The Endowment Fund is now accepting donations
  • New  updated job descriptions for ministry teams and one committees were approved.
  • A plan to reorganize CEC as a not- for- profit Corporation was introduced and approved
  • The Transportation Committee recommendation to sell the two diesel church busses and replace them with one gas powered bus at a cost of $42000 was approved.
