TECHNICAL TIPS

Samples due for determination of soluble reactive phosphorus aka dissolved ortho phosphate should never be acid preserved and must be chilled to <6 degrees C and analyzed within 48 hours. Acidification would separate otherwise unreactive phosphate molecules.

For many labs, an acid persulfate digestion is used to determine Total Phosphorus in accordance SEAL Method EPA Method 365.1, Revision 2 and Standard Methods 4500 P B(5) & F. It is acceptable to acid preserve samples due for digestion. But remember to matrix match your standards and controls to the same level of preservation!

SOFTWARE FEATURE: Table Import Functions in MiniLab Software

SEAL MiniLab Robot users have options when it comes to the setup of their tables to be scheduled for analysis.

Most commonly, users will set up new tables for their (initial) reads by using a saved template for a previously scheduled Table. To do this "New Table by Template" icon in the Start Ribbon . This is a good option if weekly samples use the same ID or location identifier.

Users with long runs that have unique samples with various sample IDs may benefit from the export of the worklists from their LIMS as a .csv file to be uploaded into the MiniLab software. To do this, you must create an import format so the software knows which table columns belong where.

Still trying to figure out the best way to organize and schedule your tables? Contact SEAL Technical Support for more information.
