Williams hired to lead SEANC finances

SEANC is excited to announce that Brenda Williams has been hired as the association's Chief Financial Officer. Williams, a member of SEANC District 44, most recently served as Deputy Treasurer for the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer Unclaimed Property Division, where she led the annual recovery of more than $150 million and facilitated safekeeping of nearly $1 billion in unclaimed property on behalf of N.C. citizens. She successfully led the Division through significant restructuring and modernization of operations to increase efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and return record-breaking amounts of money to the rightful owners. "Brenda has been an inspiring member-leader, and we are incredibly excited to have her join our management team," said SEANC Executive Director Ardis Watkins. "She brings a wealth of financial knowledge and the well-deserved trust and respect of her peers to this position."

SEANC has partnered with the State Employees' Credit Union to bring members a Lunch & Learn webinar filled with helpful tips to build their credit! Each year, Leadership North Carolina (LNC) selects a class of 50-60 current and emerging leaders from across the state through a competitive application process.  Participants attend 6 two-day sessions between October and May in various locations across the state where they learn about the challenges and opportunities facing North Carolina with a focus on building networks and turning knowledge into action to benefit their communities and the state. Date Change for Enrollment in Dental, Vision plans PLEASE NOTE: Two of SEANC's most popular insurance plans -- dental and vision -- recently changed their effective dates for enrollment from the 10th of the month to the first of the month.

Humana plans webinars to inform retirees

Join Humana online for two series of events designed to educate Medicare Advantage retirees on the plans and benefits available to them: New Member Orientation Online Sessions - The New Member Orientation educational webinars are available for members who are new to the State Health Plan’s Humana Medicare Advantage Plan or for current members who may want a refresher on everything your plan has to offer. Bringing Humana to You (BH2U) Online Sessions - The BH2U educational workshops will educate State Health Plan members about a wide variety of health and wellness.
