HECLA Greens Creek Proposes to extend the existing tailings disposal facility to the north. This would eliminate the need for a new tailings facility and allows the mine continued operations for many years to come. They are encouraging community involvement and support. The draft supplemental EIS for the expansion of the Greens Creek has been released and the comment period is open until May 8.

This is a hands on workshop/internship/training opportunity, perfect for anyone interested in exploring the up and coming world of mariculture. The program includes spawning oysters, monitoring and feeding larvae, monitoring water quality, and growing microalgae. Applicants must be able to work in a damp environment and lift 50 lbs.
