A Letter From HFMN Event Committee Chair

We hope you are enjoying the summer so far and all that Colorado has to offer! At HFMN, we have been busy planning and hosting our three signature fundraising events designed to help increase our capacity to meet the increasing needs of those military and veteran families we serve. 

Be sure to read below to hear about our wildly successful Honoring the Brave℠ Golf Tournament and how you can be part of our other two signature events- the Honoring the Brave℠ Benefit Concert and the Honoring the Brave℠ Breakfast, our hallmark and largest event!

We are also teaming up with some incredible community partners to host a Military Resource Fair with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and a night at iFly where you can enjoy live music while putting your flying skills to the test. 

We hope to see you at one or ALL of these upcoming opportunities to have fun while making a difference. Together, we can help our heroes SURVIVE & THRIVE.

Military Resource Fair!

Wednesday, August 9, 2023

5:00 PM MDT

Join us for the Military Resource Fair at the Switchbacks Stadium. This fair focuses on helping veterans and military community members to get connected with government agencies and nonprofits organizations that assist in counseling, healthcare services, resume building and so much more!

Tickets are only $24 and include access to the fair, and a ticket for the Switchbacks FC vs FC Tulsa match. Plus Pizza Hut pizza will be provided!

NEW TEAM MEMBERS

Meet Marsha Unruh

Marsha is HFMN’s Program Director, she leads a great case management team that helps military/veterans/families find the resources they need. She also engages with community partners and cultivates new partnerships throughout the community.

“When I first began working with Veterans at a local non-profit, I looked for a collaboration I could rely on to help Veterans. So, I reached out to Kate and started a partnership with Peak Military Care Network. Most recently, I learned of the program director position from Kate, and the rest is history!” 



Marsha comes from a family of military service and even worked as a civilian at HQ 7th Army CATC and DCSPER HQ USAREUR in Germany.

When not providing for her community through HFMN, Marsha enjoys engaging in the arts, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Meet Matthew McNeil

Matthew is HFMN’s Communications and Outreach Assistant Intern and is currently serving his last 6 months in the US Army as Sergeant First Class.

Being an Active Duty Service Member and growing up with the military his whole life, there is a deep understanding of the needs and opportunities for Service Members and Veterans that are not being met. Matthew hopes to help as many of those people as possible to better understand what services are available to them. 



When he isn’t at HFMN, you can find Matthew running or golfing around Colorado Springs.

2023 Honoring the Brave℠ Golf Tournament

• Thank you again to all of our sponsors, amazing volunteers, and the staff at Cheyenne Shadows Golf Club!
• We are grateful to each of you for helping us sell out for the 3rd year in a row!
• The tournament grossed nearly $45K to provide assistance to service members, veterans, and their families in Colorado Springs.
• We raised almost $8K through the Charity Golf International Hole in 2 Contest.
