Hello Antonio,

Important Information

IMPORTANT UPDATE: SECURITY BREACH

Hello Antonio,

I have spoken with Mackenzie Investments and wanted to provide you with an update on a client notification letter you have either already received or will be receiving from them shortly.

  • One of Mackenzie’s third-party vendors, InvestorCOM Inc. (InvestorCOM), disclosed that they were compromised due to a cybersecurity incident related to a technology supplier to InvestorCOM, GoAnywhere.
  • Like other companies in the financial services industry, Mackenzie uses InvestorCOM for print and delivery services of client materials.
  • InvestorCOM, in turn, uses GoAnywhere’s services for secure data transfer. GoAnywhere’s cybersecurity incident has impacted many organizations around the world.
  • Mackenzie immediately took action and recently discovered that some of your personal information was part of this cybersecurity incident.
  • For clarity, financial information, such as your holdings and account balances, was not exposed in this incident.
  • It is also important to note that your holdings in Mackenzie funds were not impacted and Mackenzie’s systems have not been compromised.
  • There is no evidence at this time of any misuse of your data. However, out of an abundance of caution, Mackenzie is offering you, through TransUnion, comprehensive credit monitoring at no cost for a period of two years. This service includes credit monitoring alerts, identity theft protection services, fraud victim assistance and up to $1,000,000 (USD) in identity theft insurance.
  • Mackenzie has assured us that they are taking all necessary steps to help protect your information and to help ensure something like this does not happen again.

Free Credit Monitoring

Please follow the instructions contained in the notification letter from Mackenzie to take advantage of the two-year comprehensive credit monitoring. When you call TransUnion to activate the service, they will request your personalized code (that will be provided in the notification letter) and will ask some questions to verify your identify.

I strongly encourage you to register for this important protection.

Please let me know if you have not received the mailed client notification letter from Mackenzie by Friday, May 12. In the meantime, feel free to reach out with any questions. I regret any concern or inconvenience this incident may cause.

Both Mackenzie and I take the protection of your personal information seriously and we are working together to take all the necessary steps to protect you.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thank you,

Tony Miceli
