Saratoga County has published

New York State County Comparisons 2026

A comprehensive public reference report that compares key financial and operational measures for all 57 New York counties outside New York City.

This report is designed to help residents, taxpayers, policymakers, researchers, and local government officials understand how New York county governments compare in spending, taxation, revenue sharing, and staffing. Each measure is ranked independently, allowing readers to evaluate individual counties and identify statewide patterns.

The analysis was compiled by Saratoga County using publicly available information, including county budget documents, county tax information, U.S. Census Bureau population estimates, and other federal, state and local government sources. The report’s methodology, definitions, sources and data limitations are documented within the publication.
