Seeing Ourselves As God Sees Us
“Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.” (Psalm 17:8)
Many people do not see themselves as God sees them. They criticize themselves as if God did not make them in His own image (Genesis 1:27). In fact, some people are harder on themselves than their enemies are hard on them. They point out things they think are fallacies in their lives while God doesn't SEE them that way. When God created them, He SAW that it was good (Genesis 1:31).
When problems arise, people think it is something they have done to cause things to go wrong. However, everything we go through is part of life. We are strengthened by the things we endure even though we don't realize it at the time.
Know that God wants us to see ourselves as He sees us. In God's eyes, we are precious. We are loved. We are forgiven. We are free. As soon as we know those things, we will begin to act that way.
