HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024!
Psalm 118:24 This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Vimarie and I pray for you, that everything the Lord has set for you to do for His Kingdom, may He fulfill His good will in your life.
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14
JANUARY 2024 MONTHLY LETTER
Twenty years ago, during this season, the Lord gave us a word for our family. We have embraced it and we have kept that word in our hearts. When many made resolutions, the Lord gave us a word that is in Matthew 6:33. That day, my husband met with other believers to pray, and the Lord gave him that scripture before arriving to the prayer meeting, without knowing that they would ask what his resolution was for the upcoming year. As the Lord had already spoken to him, he replied and shared with them. For many of the people, their resolutions were material things, but not for my husband. God had given him a scripture. The Lord had spoken to him very clearly; we did not need to worry about what we needed. Our focus was in the kingdom of God first and God would be the one to supply what we would need. This scripture was and continues to be the resolution for the Montaño family. Everything that we needed was included in that very scripture the Lord had given to him.
Let's go to Matthew 6:33. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
What does this mean for us, it means that our focus must always be the Kingdom first in our lives and that we would not need to worry about anything. I can tell you that, at that time in our lives, when the Lord spoke that word to my husband, we were living in a hotel, with our four children, pastoring a congregation. No one around us knew our situation. We did not let anyone know, because our trust was in the Lord. We were living in the hotel for a season, without knowing how we were going to pay the following week. But I can say, that the situation did not matter, our faith was always in the Lord.
I share this with you, because many think that because they are serving the Lord, difficulties will not come into their lives. This is a misconception. Many places preach that if you go through difficulty, you are not in the perfect will of the Lord. This is a great mistake. Then, everything that Jesus and the apostles lived through was not in the perfect will of our Heavenly Father?
The message of prosperity that is preached in many places has been perverted. Many go for the kind of preaching that misleads them to follow after material things, instead to teach them to seek first the kingdom of God.
Here we can see what Jesus wanted to tell us in Matthew 6:33, so those who enter the kingdom of God do not need to worry about anything. If we live a life in righteousness, doing His will, He has promised to add what we need in our lives.
Many no longer want to hear the truth, because they have been deceived by those teaching the wrong doctrine to the body of Christ. This is why many walk after material things, to feel good, and to say that they are so blessed for what they have. Let me tell you, God has already blessed us. He tells us in Ephesians 1:3, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Embrace this truth so that you may walk in it. The Lord has already blessed you and you are heirs according to Romans 8:17, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.
I can tell you that the kingdom of God does not work for what you have or possess. Have this in your mind and your heart. The Kingdom of God does not operate as the system of this world does. Stop looking at things with natural eyes, walk in the spirit!
I leave you with this scripture to meditate on. Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
