GOODBYE IRMA!

Well Irma came and went and I know I am speaking for a lot of you in that the damage could have been much worse. Power losses in my neighborhood, trees down and no internet for a while - but all in all I am thankful that damage from what I have read and seen has been minimal. Other than a tipped over shed and some torn off banners, SchiavettaGolf Academy went relatively unscathed. Good bye Irma - hopefully no more hurricanes!

Rooney was a real trooper as we hunkered down for the night. She was a good girl - and she enjoyed an extra serving of bacon the next morning...

Learn & Play Golf Schools a Fun Experience

I want to thank all of the students who participated in the last Learn and Play Golf School I @ SchiavettaGolf Academy. After the 4 sessions @ the Academy, we took the last session out on the golf course. The day was a mixture of golf course management, demonstrating to the students how to play certain golf shots and a whole lot of fun! I saw some "interesting" shots and some amazing shots! Afterwards, we discussed how they each enjoyed the day and what their experience was being on the golf course. It is important to note that you have to practice ALL aspects of the game -- not just hitting your driver off of the tee - and I think being out on the course for the last session really hit home as to what each of them needed to work on.

So - Cheryl, Lois, Leslie, Kelly, Rachel, Ken and Kevin - I thank you and look forward to your participation in School II .

October Learn & Play Golf Schools I & II

The two schools will start mid October. They are both 5 sessions, with the 5th one out on golf course. They are scheduled during week as evening classes. School I (Oct 11th start) is for beginners. School II (Oct 17th start) is for those who shoot around or just below 100 or have taken School I. Limited space available for both Schools, so sign up early! Next sessions are coming up fast!

Pink Truvis Golf Balls - in support of

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Truvis Pink is inspired by Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Callaway Golf made a one-time donation to the Morgan Pressel Foundation, which supports patient care and research in the battle against cancer (particularly breast cancer). Back in January, the LPGA star raised a foundation record $1 million during the Morgan Pressel and Friends golf outing. Pressel has already put the ball in play during the Evian Championship in September.

We can work on your golf course management skills and see what parts of your game you need to improve upon. Call Mary to set it up.
