Proudly Presents Photographer

DAVID TEJADA

"Harmony: Lines, Shapes and Color

David Tejada states, "I chose this theme because these three important elements: Lines, Shapes and Color are the foundations to strong graphic images. I invite viewers to see the world through a different perspective, to appreciate the inherent artistry in the world around us. My photographs are a testament to the power of observation and the joy pf capturing the world's graphic beauty. Photography, to me, is a dance with light and shadow, an exploration of patterns and contrasts, and a celebration of the fleeting moments that often go unnoticed."

David is a very successful photographer, having spent

40 years specializing in corporate and advertising photography in Denver, Colorado. Bradenton, FL is his new home where he continues to shoot local assignments and pursue his fine art work as well.

Also an educator, David spent 9 years leading travel work shops around the world for Popular Photography Magazine. He has taught lighting workshops for Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, Maine Media Workshops as well as Gulf Photo Plus in Dubai UAE. David has taught his own lighting workshops "Small Strobes, Big Results" more than 75 times throughout Europe. RangeFinder Magazine calls David a Small Strobe Guru; Nikon has published more than 15 articles about David's lighting skills and he has taught many Nikon Professional Services workshops around the country.

David Tejada is available for commissioned work -- additional samples of his work can be seen at www.davidtejada.com

This class worked from back to front, meaning your darks go in first and we work forward to add the lightest value. Our focus was to be able to complete a couple of exercises to learn how to handle this medium. Paper and pastels were supplied and the class certainly put what they had learned into practice.

Saturday Free DEMO -

Session #2, September 28th

Critique Corner with

Janet Flickinger & Dawn Gerardot

Come SIT & SIP and join the fun at Island Gallery & Studios for these free interactive discussion sessions on what makes a good piece of art. For example, are you stuck in your current painting? Are you having trouble deciding whether or not it's finished? Is it missing something, but you don't know exactly what? We have possible answers for you. We will look at basic design elements such as balance, space, color distribution and value. Come join a few of our gallery members as we introduce you to Critique Corner. We invite you to just come and listen or bring your paintings, particularly those that might have a problem, and we'll help you work through the issues. It's a wonderful learning experience and interesting conversation full of insight and inspiration. Each session will address different issues, so come to one session or all for something a little different each time. Take advantage of this opportunity

to add to your ART bucket.
