Welcome back to school! LIBTA has been busily planning during the summer for some exciting events this year.


Mark your calendars for the BTA Fall Conference on October 23rd at Hofstra. You can register at this link: https://tinyurl.com/4h2rpvkj. LIBTA members registration: $180 (includes 2026 BTANYS Membership, July 1, 26 through June 30, 2027). Even if you are not already a member of BTA, if you come to the Conference, you will be! BTA runs the Business Honor Society in NY State so you may want to take advantage of that opportunity this year for your students. Networking and Social Hour will be on October 22nd from 6-8 pm. Come and meet your colleagues from around the Island as well as the State!


The LIBTA Spring Conference will be held on March 16th. If you want to be part of the planning, but don’t have time to join our Board, please email us! We would love to include teachers from member schools on our Committees. You don’t have to commit to a Board position to join a Committee.

2026 BTANYS Conference


The countdown is on! Registration is now OPEN for the Business Teachers Association of New York State (BTANYS) Fall Conference, taking place on October 22–23 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY.

The professional certification requirements state that New York State teachers must earn 100 hours of professional development. Our organization has heard its members' concerns about obtaining these hours.  The Long Island Business Teachers Association is proud to announce that we have been approved by The New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a certified provider of Continuing Teacher and Leader Education as of July 28, 2017. As a result your Long Island Business Teachers Membership will include opportunities to attend NYSED approved staff development hours where we will implement training to increase teacher knowledge.
