We look to the heavens and then to the earth. Viewing the horizon, it is sometimes difficult to see the separation between the two. They are virtually one. A labyrinth to me has a similar defining space issue. Until you are walking the path, it is sometimes difficult to follow the way in which you are to go. Step by step and curve by curve we go through and around making our way through prayers, silence and peace.
Early in the pandemic, I was finding that the structure to my daily life, in which I had found so much comfort, was no longer there. Fortunately, I found plentiful resources online to integrate into a new daily routine.
We are offering an open Google calendar with prayer and meditation resources, that you may choose to add into your own calendar and daily activities, wherever you are! Here, home, elsewhere!

Open the SSJE word of the day,
read it, pray about it, incorporate it into today.

Take a walk or a quiet moment and listen to the
daily 3-5 minute Forward Movement Day By Day podcast.

There is also Compline from Forward Movement. Click and Listen, or go to their website and enjoy Prayer Any Time! It's awesome!

And 10am Friday
Morning Mindful Meditation: Practicing Equinimity with Dr. Mattie Decker

Some days being guided through prayer is just what we need. We are thankful to Forward Movement and SSJE for sharing these. Add our calendar with this link. It is a start. We won't clutter it up. There will be retreats and other opportunities which you can add or not. If you choose to add a retreat, follow the Eventbrite link. Our intention is to add things to your daily practice in an easy way.

Diakonia:
From Service to Servant
Exploring the concepts of diakonia, attendees will move deeper into what it means to be a servant of Christ and how one is called “to be” in the world versus simply “doing” acts of charity.
About our retreat leader:
Since 2005, Douglas Argue has served as the Managing Director for the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio. He is a facilitator for Wellstreams Spiritual Direction Program in Columbus.
Douglas earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana, holds a Masters of Social Work from Indiana University; is an LISW in the state of Ohio; is an ordained deacon in the Episcopal Church; and lives in Columbus with his husband and their two four-legged children.

My soul finds rest in God alone;
my salvation comes from him.
