WOMEN ON MISSION HOLD INSTALLATION
Our Women on Mission organization has chosen the theme,
LIVING LETTERS
, as emphasis for the new church year which begins October 1. The group will be meeting in the church fellowship hall on
Tuesday, September 10 at 9:30 a.m.
The program emphasis for the morning will be the installation of officers under the direction of Judy Divine. The Scripture chosen for the yearly emphasis is taken from the Apostle Paul’s second writings to the Corinthian church. It is found in Second Corinthians 3:2-3 NIV
“You show that you are a letter from Christ … written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the Living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of the human heart.”
Our thanks to the Nominating Committee: Mildred Burns, Chairman, Doris Whitcher and Becky Mabus. Women on Mission will continue to encourage learning about and praying for missions. They will teach and practice the support of missions at home and around the world. They will engage in mission action and witnessing as an important part of their daily lives. This emphasis will continue to show the church as a vital ministry to knowing God better and sharing His love with others.
Hostesses for the coffee/snack/share time, from about 10:15 until 10:45, are Eva McNeely and Patti Crocker. The installation program led by Judy Divine begins at about 10:50. All women of the church are invited to attend and to participate. Guests are always welcome, both men and women.
WORK DAY FOR WOM
On
Tuesday, September 24 at 9:30 a.m.
Women on Mission will gather in fellowship hall for a morning of fun and work. Some of the group will be working on quilts which are later given to families in need through Grand Oak Mission. Mary McLemore leads in making the baby/children’s quilts. Doris Whitcher is in charge of making salvation bracelets. New members are always welcome and the women are delighted to teach newcomers how to tack the quilts. These are made for Grand Oak Mission Center, 2854 West Grand, which is owned and operated by Greene County Baptist Association.
Our women will be happy to teach anyone how to make the salvation bracelets too. These are used by our Greene County Baptist Association mission teams during the summer. Most of them go to Mexico or other Central American countries. Come join us for the fun and the work! You will be glad you did.
Hostesses for the coffee/snack/share time about 10:15 are Mildred Burns and Lois Wood. The morning of work ends at about 11:45 with no lunch
being served. Come and enjoy!
