Key Tips for Winter Safety:

• Clear snow and ice promptly from sidewalks, entrances, and parking areas. Use salt or sand to improve traction.
• Create a snow and ice removal plan with assigned responsibilities, proper equipment, and scheduled inspections before the first snowfall.
• Encourage safe walking habits—take short steps, walk slowly, and wear footwear with good traction.
• Provide warm gear and breaks for employees working outdoors to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.
• Communicate hazards quickly. Report black ice or slippery surfaces to management for immediate action.

C.R.A.S.E. (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events)

Learn how to respond during the critical first three minutes of an active shooter incident. This session covers real-world scenarios, how stress impacts decision-making, and practical strategies for evacuation, lockdown, and survival using the proven “Avoid, Deny, Defend” approach developed by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT).

Stop the Bleed

Discover life-saving techniques to control severe bleeding. Through hands-on instruction, you’ll gain confidence in applying direct pressure, packing wounds, and using tourniquets, skills that can make the difference in an emergency.

This training empowers you to act quickly and effectively when every second counts.

Learn Life-Saving Skills with Our First Aid, CPR & AED Training Course

As a value-added safety service for our customers, we offer Adult First Aid, CPR & AED training. Take advantage of our training programs to help protect the safety and health of your employees.

Benefits of this training:


•     Comprehensive classroom training
•     Nominal cost; lower cost than other nationally recognized trainings
•     Helps ensure OSHA compliance

This training course offers important life-saving skills for laypersons. The first aid section includes first aid basics and information on medical, injury and environmental emergencies. The CPR section presents basic adult CPR and covers the proper use of AEDs. This training is intended for laypersons only and not for healthcare providers or those who work in a healthcare setting who are required to take a healthcare provider course for their employment.

Class sizes are limited to 24 participants and are taught by Chesapeake Employers' Safety Management Consultants certified as NSC First Aid Instructors. An NSC certification card will be awarded upon successful completion of the training. Both the CPR and First Aid certifications are good for two years from the date of training.
