Pray

Prayer--It's what keeps me sane. Through rocky weeks, I trust that the Lord has better in mind and that I'm thinking too much toward my will--not open enough to His yet. It's prayer that changes my heart, and helps me see what He wants to do in me and through me. In 2016, 2017, and 2018 I was part of a group that did a 21-day fast. I chose to do juice--this forever changed my relationship with juice, unfortunately, there are now some things I just can't drink anymore. Ugh! During that time, I felt moved to pray for the leaders of the city, the movement of God here, a connected church, a vibrant community...and then...what I believed was God answering all these prayers all ended dramatically and quickly. It was 2018 and I thought I would never be in ministry again. Several months after that last fast, after a heartbreaking shift in my life, I was asked to host a leadership lunch--it took shape over time, it was the launch of SERVE.

SERVE has been the blessing of my life. Beauty from ashes. And living breathing prayers. Let's do more of that. Let's pray for this area, this community, our leaders and pastors, the movement of God, a connected activated Church, and a vibrant community...let's pray to bring our city to Heaven. Sometimes, I get the feeling I am thinking too small about what is possible with an activated healthy vibrant big "C" Church. Pray the daring prayers. Push forward. Think bigger. What is possible?

If we want this: If we want a vibrant healthy activated church, all I know for sure is that whatever we do next, it begins with prayer. It begins by seeking what the Lord wants to do here, what God wants you to do. Please sign up and share the Prayer Canopy.  Please share this with every group that you know that prays. Please also make a plan for National Day of Prayer--plan a day, an hour, a special service, get all your small groups praying, or anything else that works for your church. Let's contend for the community, its impact, the needs, and the revelation of Jesus here.

Let's take a listening posture, then let's do what God says.

What would it take to bring Green Bay to Heaven?

I've been talking to people about the idea that in the New Creation, we will have jobs and roles and relationships, so what would it take to bring Green Bay to Heaven? What would it take to make sure no one is missing, if we look around there is a coffee shop with the same people, our favorite shop with the same servers, and our neighborhood with our same neighbors.

How do we get there? I believe it begins with prayer and seeking God for our next steps. I think it takes practice to grow relationships and partnerships. I think it begins with a spirit of collaboration and seeing all our ministries as a greater economy of the Kingdom of God.

Please start this journey with the community and join the Prayer Canopy.
